Light is needed to be able to read. The inspiration for this project was to turn the two activities of reading and turning on a light into one. The porcelain lamp comes alive when human activity is initiated. A simple form subtraction allows for a book to sit into the lamp. Once the book is removed from the object, light is provided for reading.
