This kinetic wind sculpture was designed for the open space behind Te Papa, National Museum, in Wellington, New Zealand. The city is known for its extreme winds and earthquakes, and i drew inspiration from the mark both can leave behind. Using the ‘Pin Art’ toy as a precedent, the sculpture captures the wind gusts through the distortion of its surface.
