Light is needed to be able to read; the two go hand in hand. READING LIGHT aims to merge these two activities of reading and turning on a light into one.

A simple form subtraction allows for any book to sit into the object. Once the book is removed from the object, light is provided for reading through the use of a sensor switch.

The lamp comes alive when human activity is initiated and provides sufficient light through the translucent proporties of the bone china.
