The exhibition is a protest against the current revenuemodels of designers and artists and presents an alternative museum concept in where the emotional respond of the visitors are being measured; packaged into data and sold for trend forecasting purposes. The artists are shareholders of the database. With this exhibition the initiators, Tessa Koot, Justine Kontou and Govert Flint hope to create a national debate for the recoverage of the profession of independent creators in The Netherlands.

Etage Projects is pleased to present Tincture, a joint exhibition by Sabine Marcelis (NL/NZ) and Luuk van den Broek (NL).
1st of May – 4th of July 2015
Opening on the 1st of May
A returning theme in the praxis’s of Marcelis and van den Broek are the qualities of colour. The title of their joint exhibition in Etage Projects, Tincture, seeks to redefine colour and material as sensual, subjective experiences rather than static entities. Underlining the dynamic and artistically composed character of their work, Tincture refers to a series of synonyms such as; colour, stain, tint, trace, dye, shade, extract, elixer, cast and pigment.

Textile Designer Mae Engelgeer asked Studio Sabine Marcelis to design the exhibition and display furniture for her solo show during the Salone Del Mobile in Milan 2015.
A series of hanging and free-standing frames were created to highlight the textiles. By creating such a minimal setting, we could utilise the entire space yet maintain a sense of calm and openness.
The show will take place between 14-18 April and Via Massimiano 23.

I contributed a design for this year's Jonas Julekort charity event:
Jonas’ Julekort is a charity organization that arranges an exhibition each year in December, where artworks made by hundreds of different contributors are exhibited and sold.
Every year the profits are donated to a new place chosen by the organization.
The first exhibition was held in December 2013 and it supported Mændenes Hjem, Copenhagen. This year the organization has chosen to donate the profits to Reden, Copenhagen.
The exhibition takes place in Atelier September in Gothersgade 30, Copenhagen.
This year the exhibition will be open from Friday the 5th of December at 4 pm and it will be open until December the 13th (Open: Monday – Friday from 12-5 pm and Saturday & Sunday from 12-3 pm).
Artists, architects, illustrators, designers, writers etc. each create an artwork, which will be sold for 500 Danish Kroner. The artist’s signature is signed on the inside of the folded paper sent by us and all artworks will be sealed, so that the sale will happen anonymously. It will be possible to see, who the creator of each artwork is at the end of the exhibition, when the buyers collect the artworks.

‘HAPPY FUTURE’ EXHIBITION
23 — 04 — 14
Images of the beautiful Dutch Invertuals exhibition during Salone del Mobile 2014 are now available here
‘Newly gained knowledge allows us to venture deeper into the future. We create new tools, speak a new language and formulate new aesthetics. We interpret nature, re-think our traditions and shape our identity.
After gaining so much knowledge and freedom to design our own individuality, and even our own society, it is time to re-discover what can truly bring us happiness. It has become so easy to take our freedom and luxury for granted while the world, as we know it, is in desperate need of balance. Step by step we are figuring out how to bring knowledge to good use. This will eventually lead to a Happy Future.’
Wendy Plomp – Curator
“The mission of Dutch Invertuals is to show and challenge the value of knowledge and beauty.”
Invertuals: Brit van Nerven & Sabine Marcelis, Daphna Laurens, Edhv, Jeroen Wand, Jetske Visser, Jólan van der Wiel, OS / OOS, Raw Color, Roos Gomperts, Studio Mieke Meijer, Thomas Vailly & Laura Lynn Jansen
